1. Whats the difference between TSM Studio and TSM Studio Server
TSM Studio is designed to be an administrative tool (similar to ISC but with far more functionality) , providing access to the majority of TSM Commands. TSM Studio Server provides all the Automation, Scheduled Reporting, Operational Reporting, Capacity over time Reports, and Enterprise Dashboards. TSM Studio Servers runs collections as pre-definied intervals from the TSM Servers and stores the database in a Microsoft SQL Server Database ( not provided ). Click Here for Product Feature List
Spirit Software Warehouse provides a repository for storing reports that can be viewed using the warehouse client.
2. Do I need to purchase both TSM Studio and TSM Studio Server
If the functionailty in TSM Studio is what is required then TSM Studio Server is not required. The user interface for TSM Studio Server is builtin to TSM Studio so a copy of TSM Studio is required to use TSM Studio Server, TSM Studio is not included in the cost of TSM Studio Server and must be purchased seperately.
3. What are the installation Requirements for TSM Studio
TSM Studio requires the dotnet framework version 4 ( included in the installation package). TSM Studio will run run on Windows XP, Vista and 7 ( both 32 and 64 bit editions)
4. What are the installation Requirements for TSM Studio Server
- TSM Studio (The user interface for TSM Studio Server is builtin to TSM Studio so a copy of TSM Studio is required)
- Microsoft SQL Server or MYSQL ( not included in installation package)
- Windows 2003, 2008 ( R2 Editions Supported )
